Southbound 35, we're headed down the road...

Sam made his first trip down I-35 to Austin.  It was very exciting!  We got to visit with Great Aunt Juuuuuuudy, Uncle Kyle, Aunt Alex, Aunt Mitzi, Aunt Megan, my mom's office, my dad's office, and of course both sets of grandparents!  Sam even got to have a play date with his girlfriend, Stella, and Aunt Kay-Kay!  Here are some pics from the trip.

A Visit from Grandma and Granddad and Puppies!

Last weekend my parents, Grandma and Granddad, came to visit us.  Well... I think when people come to visit they are no longer visiting Clint and me, they are just here to see Sam :)

The happiest Granddad in the world!

Sam loved riding around on GMA's shoulder

Sam got to meet my parent's three dogs

Granddad talked, played, and toured the house for hours with Sam!

Granddad had the magic touch :)  Sam smiled every time he talked to him.

Can you tell who was the center of attention all weekend!

Sam and GMA toured the backyard with all the dogs!

2 Month Check-up

2 month photo
Wow!  How can two months go by so fast?!  It is amazing how much Sam is growing, changing, learning, and doing.  Here are some of the things Sam has been up to:

- standing with support
- lifting his head
- walking up someone's tummy
- smiling, a lot!
- after a sneeze, he always says, "Oh" is such a precious little voice
- his favorite words (ok, really sounds, but they sound like these words) are oh, hi, and wow
- he tries to copy different faces you make
- he laughs if you stick your tongue out at him, and he is trying to do it back
- he is obsessed with zebras - actually he just loves anything that is black and white striped. He will sit in his bouncer and stare and talk and laugh at his "zeba."
- he gets so excited when dad comes home from work (he is excited to see mom too, but he sees her all day!).  He will turn to look at dad and smile when he sees him.
- The best still is when he just stares lovingly into our eyes and smiles.  Just melts our hearts.

Two Month Report Card from the doctor:

  • Weight: 11 lbs 1 oz,  50%
  • Height: 22.5 in.,  50-75%
  • Head: 15.3 in., 50%
  • Physical Exam: Normal
  • Development: A+
  • Sam has been favoring looking to his left, so we are working on developing his neck muscles to his neck range of motion.

An Oscar Night at the Culp's - Continuing a Tradition

Clint's parents, a.k.a. Grammy and Pops, have spent the last few years watching all the movies that have an Oscar nomination.  Then, on the night of the awards, they watch all the red carpet coverage, the Oscar ceremony, and the after show with Joan Rivers.  This year, we were excited that Sam was able to join in the Oscar fun!  Thanks, Grammy and Pops for this great tux that was perfect for the occasion.

The next occasion will be to watch White Christmas!  "Sisters, Sisters...!!!" (if you listen closely you can hear the Culp clan singing this song :) )

BTW... here is what this outfit looked like on Sam in the hospital.  We can't believe how much he has grown!

Milestones

Saturday was a big day!  Sam gave us his first real smiles, and even a little giggle!  He also started following an object with his eyes if we move it from side to side.  It is amazing how much he grows and changes each day.

Sam loves to stand!  He has some strong little legs.

The dogs have gotten very comfortable around Sam now.  Pancho acts as his protector and Buoy loves to walk by and lick him :)  The dogs are always around making sure Sam is safe and sound.
Good Buoy!
